It goes without saying that we are at a moment of tremendous turmoil, where the challenges we face at home and abroad seem overwhelming and at times intractable. The world economic crisis, a weakened professional media, climate change and social and economic exclusion are threatening global health, human rights and peace and security.
Despite these challenges, we are motivated by the possibilities we see before us. As evidenced by the engagement in the recent election, the emergence of courageous global activist networks, and the development of innovative communication tools, – there is a generational shift taking place where citizens are building power and challenging the status quo...

Americans for Financial Reform is a coalition of more than 250 national, state and local consumer, labor, investor, civil rights, community, small business, and senior citizen organizations that have come together to spearhead a campaign for real reform. The coalition is fighting for a banking and financial system based on accountability, fairness and security.
