It goes without saying that we are at a moment of tremendous turmoil, where the challenges we face at home and abroad seem overwhelming and at times intractable. The world economic crisis, a weakened professional media, climate change and social and economic exclusion are threatening global health, human rights and peace and security.
Despite these challenges, we are motivated by the possibilities we see before us. As evidenced by the engagement in the recent election, the emergence of courageous global activist networks, and the development of innovative communication tools, – there is a generational shift taking place where citizens are building power and challenging the status quo...

The Story of Stuff Project was created by Annie Leonard to leverage and extend The Story of Stuff movie's impact. The organization amplifies public discourse on a series of environmental, social and economic concerns and facilitates the growing Story of Stuff community's involvement in strategic efforts to build a more sustainable and just world. Story's of Stuff's on-line community includes over 150,000 activists and partners with hundres of environmental and social justice orgranizations worldwide to create and distribute films, curricula and other content.
